Russian Navy in 2010-2012 will purchase 26 flight-deck fighters MiG-29K, which will be based on the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, Interfax reported with reference to the representative of the Command Naval Aviation. According to the plans of the Navy, in 2010, will be purchased two fighters, while the rest several parties- in 2011 and 2012.
The decision to purchase aircraft was taken in September 2009, during the flight tests of MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB. Earlier it was reported that in the next few years flight deck fighters based on CV will be MiG-29 and Su-33. The service life of Su-33 already in service by Military Naval aviation of Russia will expire in 2015, but it is planned to extend it till 2025.
